MEN WHO CULTIVATE A DEEPER CONNECTION TO THEIR EMOTIONAL EXPERIENCES ARE BETTER EQUIPPED TO FOSTER HIGH-QUALITY RELATIONSHIPS, ENRICH THEIR INTIMACY, AND DISCOVER A CLEARER SENSE OF PURPOSE FOR THEIR LIFE.

I HELP MEN ACHIEVE THIS DEEPER UNDERSTANDING, LEADING THEM TOWARD GREATER EMOTIONAL SELF-AWARENESS AND EMPOWERMENT.

Men with self-guided emotional understanding learn to attune and regulate their emotions, not suppress, bypass, medicate, or manage them. I will help guide your emotional growth in the three following areas:

MIND

For many men, we start from and live in the mind but often get stuck up there. 🧠That doesn’t devalue it by any means. Mental fortitude and our ability to reframe solutions are fundamental to our capacity to find direction, construct, innovate, and problem-solve. As part of our emotional experiences, the mind is characterized by our core beliefs and the stories we tell about ourselves and the world around us. Healthy self-awareness helps us identify triggers and reframe situations to better adapt to conditions that are and are not in our control.

BODY

While the mind interprets our emotional experience, the body is where we feel it. By harnessing our understanding of the nervous system, you can develop healthy grounding techniques that better help you deal with stressful situations and develop a relationship to something we call “baseline.” Think of baseline in terms of alignment to our inner peace. That is the anchor from which we self-regulate negative emotions and come into our most positive and thriving emotional experiences.

HEART

The heart of our emotions is all about secure vulnerability. Learning to deal with our inward emotional experience, overcoming our greatest fears, and replacing any pockets of shame in our story with grace and compassion. This sometimes means we must delve into the aspects of ourselves we tend to avoid or find difficult to confront. Somewhere in there is the secure inner strength and confidence we all yearn for.

THE APPROACH:

I work with men based on 4 key frameworks that address the mind, body and heart

Attachment

Attachment exploration connects to understanding how the nature of our early childhood to adulthood relationships with our parents or caregivers shaped nurture-based adaptation. This includes how patterns show up in conflict and our bids for connection and intimacy in all forms of relationships, including friendships, romantic partners, and our own children.

Shadow work

Exploring your insecurities has a hidden power. Shadowwork helps you confront your secret fears, self-doubts, judgments, and negative emotions by exploring parts of your life that you’ve suppressed, ignored, denied or ran away from.

Somatic

Somatic tools are a body-centered approach to developing a greater connection to our bodies by understanding what's happening in our nervous system. Facilitated through mindfulness, breathwork, and physical discipline, grounding us in our ability to find soft landings and cathartic physical exertion.

Stoicism

Stoicism is an ancient philosophy that harnesses the principle that while we cannot control our emotions or external circumstances, we can choose not to let our emotions control us and respond accordingly. By cultivating resilience and inner peace, men can navigate life's challenges with strength and wisdom. It's about finding peace in adversity and living a meaningful life.

MOVING BEYOND THERAPY

Although I am a licensed therapist, the principle of this approach goes beyond mere validation or just talking through issues. I take therapeutic modeling and mold it in a manner that provides a more directional principle and creates a space to explore healthy models of masculinity. I’m not here to diagnose you; I’m here to come alongside you and help you be a better man by helping you cultivate a deeper, more informed understanding of your inward emotional experience.

Break your patterns and find your focus

If you aspire to cultivate robust internal validation structures while embarking on a path of purposeful living and self-discipline, there are no magical shortcuts—only dedicated effort.

  • You might be a high achiever, yet feel a persistent sense of inadequacy, struggling to feel or be enough.

  • Success in monetary terms might be yours, but true intimacy remains elusive.

  • You're weary of constantly seeking approval and playing the 'nice guy.'

  • Anxiety, fear, and worry about the unknown future plague your thoughts.

  • You find yourself trapped in unhealthy coping mechanisms, repeating cycles.

  • The inner voice within is harsh, critical, and often shaming.

  • Past regrets haunt you, and you grapple with the present stage of life.

  • The fear of judgment hinders your ability to be authentically vulnerable.

  • A lack of self-assurance and a sense of identity troubles you.

  • Generational patterns seem to dictate your life's trajectory, passed down through family lines.

But there's hope. By forging healthy mental, emotional, and spiritual patterns, you can break free from these cycles and become a transformative force, not just for yourself but for future generations you influence.

MY STORY

Growing up, I navigated a diverse upbringing, starting in Honolulu, Hawaii, before moving across states due to my father's military service. Settling finally in Seattle, Washington, the blend of my French/German father and Filipino mother shaped my identity with its unique mix, yet posed challenges in finding my place.

My world shifted when my parents divorced during my early teens, leading to a fractured family dynamic. This upheaval left emotional imprints, quietly affecting my personal and relational life. Throughout my youth and into adulthood, I struggled to reconcile who I felt I should be with my authentic self, seeking validation externally and performing to fit societal molds.

Early exposure to porn and sexual interferences altered my journey toward healthy sexual development, steering it toward fleeting pleasures and patterns of unhealthy self-regulation as I matured.

College introduced me to profound spiritual encounters that began a transformative journey. However, despite these moments, I found myself trapped in cycles of being the 'nice guy,' performing religiously, and grappling with insecurities that fueled seeking validation through destructive or self-sabotaging relationships.

Guidance from mentors, counseling, and inner healing rituals gradually unraveled past wounds, allowing me to redefine my values and reconnect with my authentic self. This journey led me to a version of myself that didn’t rely on performance for identity but instead channeled ambitions into purpose-driven endeavors, embracing career goals, financial responsibility, and personal growth encompassing mind, body, and spirit.

It's important to note that my journey isn't about having all the answers but about embracing personal growth. Today, I cherish a loving marriage of over a decade and the joys of fatherhood. While not everyone I assist is at this stage of life, I advocate for healthy spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being, aiming for success grounded in values and a meaningful contribution to relationships and communities.

My purpose is to mentor intentional men, offering guidance toward holistic growth.

Where I’m at today

I reside in the beautiful state of Washington here in the US. I live with my wife of 11 years, Dr. Renee St. Jacques, and my two beautiful children. A lot of my life currently involves being an intentional husband and father. Aside from my passion for men’s emotional health and well-being, I take part in rich experiences and adventures by traveling the world. I enjoy discussing finance, economics, hip-hop, comic books, and philosophy. I LOVE food and cooking! I participate and am passionate about overall nutrition, holistic health, biohacking, and fostering healthy daily habits of mental, emotional, physical grounding, and discipline.

“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way.”
